MECHTRON is for hire.  We work exclusively on a Time and Material (T&M) basis

What are the benefits of T&M?

• T&M basis yields the highest efficiency (you get the most for the less)
  • Because putting together estimates is extremely time consuming T&M allows a project to start much sooner.
  •  MECHTRON uses external suppliers so Request For Quote’s (RFQ’s) from suppliers adds a deeper level of time consumption and increases project start delays. T&M avoids this.
  • Changes along the way can be made quickly and efficiently without the need for formal change requests (Efficiency improvement; your project is completed sooner)
• Estimates created to build equipment from an “idea” is risky for everyone for many reasons
  • Working within an estimated thin budget may limit the quality of a design.  Working on a T&M basis yields the best product.
  • Working within an estimated budget that was “over-padded” is wasteful.
    
• T&M basis potentially means less customer input (in a good way).
  • Remove the customer burden of putting together detailed documents defining equipment specifications.
    • These specifications often unnecessarily limit the boundaries of our creativity.
    • Working within poorly defined customer requirements can inadvertently drive the design of a piece of equipment to be more than it needs to be.
  • Working within poorly defined customer requirements can inadvertently drive the design of a piece of equipment to be less than it needs to be.
  • Simply share the input variables and output requirements and allow our experience to define the equipment required to achieve the best value.
  • We function on true T&M.  We do not up charge for OEM components or other goods acquired for your project.  

What are the pitfalls of T&M?

• Working within a customer budget
  • Most cases, projects need budgetary costs associated for customer planning.  Though we will not provide an official quote or estimate, we would be happy to discuss projected costs with you to identify a “budgetary” cost for your project.  Conceiving, much less quoting custom equipment is illusive.  The more details we have about the requirements of your project, the more accurate will our budgetary number be.
• Trust
  • Trusting MECHTRON with your T&M project is held by us in high regard.  These days, trust is hard to come by.   If we haven’t already, we WILL earn your trust.  Our goal is to come along side you and partner with you on your project.  We know if you don’t look good, we don’t look good, so we are highly motivated to make sure you look good.
